Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy

Day-care procedure under sedation · Apollo Nellore

Endoscopy is a quick day care procedure that lets your doctor see inside your upper GI tract directly. It is the gold standard for diagnosing acid reflux, ulcers, polyps, gastritis, and early stomach cancer. Dr. Reddy performs both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy at Apollo Nellore.

What is upper GI endoscopy?

Upper GI endoscopy (esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD) uses a flexible tube with a camera to examine the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine (duodenum). It is performed under sedation, takes 10 to 15 minutes, and you go home a few hours later.
